Who Am I
I came to Canada from Guyana when I was a teenager. I am happily married to my wonderful wife for 38 years. I have two sons, a lovely daughter-in-law and two adorable grandchildren.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Criminology from the University of Toronto. For over 30 years, I have worked in the areas of real estate, finances, industrial engineering and management in unionized environment.
I have a vested interest in the wellbeing of our City. Since my high school days, I have been participating in the community in many ways, advocating for fairness and social justices, as executive member and board member in community agencies and legal clinic, contributed in setting out strategic direction, establishing policies and constitutions, and ensuring agency by-laws and policies are being complied. Over two decades, a great part of my livelihood activities are conducted in Scarborough North, Ward 23.
I appreciate different cultures and have great interest in learning the ways of doing things in their respective locality. I have travelled extensively in recent years, including months of staying in places like China, Hong Kong, Australia, Korea and took trips to south Asia such as India and Cambodia.
For 46 years, I have lived in Toronto, this lovely vibrant city, I have witnessed many of its changes. I have seen the days when there were open street newspaper boxes where purchasing was by honour, to today’s high tech where newspaper can be read electronically. With my involvement in the community, my knowledge in infrastructure, finance, management, and my understanding of the residents in our ward, I believe I can help make positive changes to the future of our City.
For more than two decades, a great part of my livelihood activities are conducted in Ward 44. I will make this ward a beautiful place where we want to live, to work, and to do business in.
